prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Tracing back in time.

I was born and raised in California. My ancestors before that lived in Kansas, Kentucky, New jersey, and Connecticut in America. Suffolk, Lincolnshire, and Sussex in England. Saint Lo in France.  This is back to 1100. I do not know if it is possible to go back any further. But it is fun to try.

  1. It might be possible in France. They are very proud of their ability to trace their families back across the centuries. By the way, St. Lo was an important WWII site during the Allied Invasion.

  2. The city was essentially destroyed in the bombing. They debated not rebuilding and leaving it as a monument to the horror of war.
