prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Munson/Monson great grandfathers in England

To my knowledge my 19 great grandfathers that are buried in England are buried in just three areas. This fact will be a help in locating their graves. The oldest nine are buried in Herstmonceux, Sussex. Sussex county is on the lower coast of England. Hastings is nearby. You might remember the Battle of Hastings.

The next 8 are buried in Lincolnshire, Suffolk. This county is further north on the east coast of England.

The last two are buried off by themselves in Rattlesden which is about a hundred miles south of Lincolnshire. Rattlesden is also located in Suffolk.

I am hopeful that research over the next months will yield the exact location of many of the 19 graves. The two at Rattlesden are already located. Captain Thomas Munson who is buried in New Haven, Connecticut was born in Rattlesden in 1612.

  1. Looks like we're focusing on southwest England. I've never been there, I'm looking forward to it.
