prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Techsters won! Against the University of New Orleans.

It was so good to win.

Watch the screen or the floor.

The right ears were there.

Skip id studying the finance report of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury.

Coach Spoon is asking the Techsters to do something.

Good score. We won 69 to 39.

Happy team,

Justin got a nice buck this morning!

We are all so happy, pleased, and proud that my grandson in law Justin Miller shot a nice seven pointer (he was robbed, should have been an eight pointer) this morning. He has been hunting on the lease south of Arcadia for so long, with  no luck. His persistence finally paid off.

My grand daughter, Katie, was so proud.

\
181 pounds.

John has shot three deer this season.

I had a car wreck close to home.

I snuggled my car close to my trailer to leave more room in the yard.

Whoops! I touched the trailer where there are door catches protruding.

Does not look so bad from a distance. (Oh yeah!)

I have spent several hours telling myself about my carelessness and stupidity. I have not talked back, either.

Willie's Duck Dinner.

This world famous Cajun and Red Neck Restaurant is located in West Monroe, Louisiana. John and his three grandsons Ethan, Ross, and Christian had lunch there today. I would have been there but I had a previously made appointment.

Andouille and duck gumbo, and red beans and rice. Ummmmmm good!

A giraffe in our yard.

This giraffe is a tractor mounted curricular saw mounted on the end of a huge retractable pole. It came to clear the area around the power line to the Adams's house. What an impressive piece of equipment. You could just see the labor that it replaced. People with chain saws, ladders, and bucket trucks.

It did run over the water meter and break the water line. The water line was quickly repaired.

There was a plumber around the corner, thank goodness.

Another dreary day, And a dreary basketball game.

It was 35 degrees all day yesterday, overcast, and raining. Went to see the Techsters play Arkansas last night.

We started behind and ended up behind 91 to 68.

We won the tip off.

Good looking group of fine country gentlemen!

A dreary day and a three tuba game.

A dreary day at my home in the piney woods of North Louisiana.

Saturday was cold and overcast. I looked forward to a Techster basketball game at 1:00 pm. Imagine my chagrin when I found out that it was only a three tuba game! That is the lowest tuba rating that I have ever seen.

There were two lovely coaches, however.

The LSU coach went for a long flowing gown and high heels.

The Louisiana Techster coach went for pants suit and boots.

A band played at half time. They were out of sight to me but I could see them on the scoreboard screen.

A dreary score. We lost 81 to 69.
