prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Edwin Edwards, authorized biography by Leo Honeycutt.

I attended the monthly meeting of the Northeast Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Society in Monroe today. Leo Honeycutt gave a very informative and entertaining talk about his book on the life of Edwin Edwards. Edwards is one of very few people who have served four full terms as governor of a state.

Autographed copies of the book were available. The book is the result of five years of work and is heavily researched and foot noted. The attendance at the meeting was the most I have seen. Even recent history can be interesting, especially if it is about Edwin Edwards.
