prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Upper GI Examination

That is what I had this morning. I had the impression that the exam was just for my corkscrewed esophagus. However the procedure involved my stomach too.   The exam found a restriction in my  esophagus right where it enters my stomach and  found acid damage in the stomach and esophagus. The Doctor stretched the restriction, took some biopsies of the damaged spots both in my stomach and esophagus, and gave a me a prescription for medicine. The medicine reduces acid and helps with swallowing problems. I hate to have another capsule in my life, but the Doctor knows best.
