prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Ounce House Hotel in Bury St Edmunds.

Closest place to Rattlesden. We stayed there two nights. A lovely bed and breakfast. A couple of blocks from the Bury St Edmunds Abbey Ruins. Very interesting ruins. The whole town of Bury St Edmunds is interesting. A blog coming. In 1214 the Abbey was a large going concern. A group of nobles met and swore to force the king to sign the Magna Carta. Hence this place could be called the cradle of constitutional law. The king signed the document the next year in 1215.

Nancy at the door.

A painting of the hotel hanging in the entrance way.

The house next door, old and picturesque.
