prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Today's meeting of the NLG&HS.

Charles Johnson was the speaker at today's meeting of the Northeast Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Society. Charles is the retired owner of the C.J.Johnson Sign Company and a life long resident and collector of Monroe Memorabilia. I passed a paper with the headline below.

I thought that must be an old paper about WW II but on inspection it was a 1917 paper about WW I. I hope that we never have another war with Germany.

I enjoyed the talk by Charles on the history of Monroe, Louisiana.
