prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Refrigerator converted to a bookcase.

My fifth wheel trailer home is 16 years old. Jackie and I pulled it for 45000 miles. We really used it and enjoyed it. One trip to Florida (Jackie went every night to the Disney world parade.). Two trips to LaPlace, Louisiana and two trips to Monroe, Louisiana. Combined with these trips were eight winter trips to Las Vegas, Nevada. (Did I tell you Jackie loved to play the slot machines?) Also stops in Southern California and Modesto, California. Soon after our last trip to Las Vegas Jackie had to go on dialysis because of kidney failure and our RV days sadly ended.

My present home has seen a lot of usage. It was our second fifth wheel. Almost all of the appliances have worn out. They did pretty good for RV appliances. The air conditioner, the space heater,  and the refrigerator have given up. The water heater is about done for. A two cubic foot refrigerator sits on the kitchen counter. A portable combination air conditioner and heat pump sits in a corner.

The refrigerator has been converted to a bookcase. Pretty cool, huh?
