prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Harmony in West Monroe.

I attended a musical program in West Monroe last night. It featured singers from West Monroe and Ruston. I am a fan of the group from Ruston.

They are the Piney Hills Harmony Chorus. They are really tremendous singers. Lots of barber shop harmony and just plain beautiful music.

They were joined by the Note-torius Chorus.

These four men are the Bayou Blend Quartet. In memory of Pearl Harbor and WW 2 they sang a beautiful version of "I'll be home for Christmas". This was the most popular song of the time. What memories!

It was a great program.
