prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

The old prune picker ran into a deer!

On the way home from the Jefferson Corner Sports Fan Club meeting this morning I ran into a large doe. It was about 6:30 am and I was about a half mile off White Lightning Road on Simmons Road when a doe ran across the road. I put on the brakes but a second doe was hit by the center of my car. The deer was not killed but was hit pretty hard. I drove back looking, but did not see any sign of the deer.

When I got home I was dismayed by the damage to my car. In my last blog I inferred that I had a lot of paper work in the mill. Well, getting this damage repaired will take some more paper work!
