prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Northeast Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Society Meeting

I attended the Sunday January 8 meeting of the NELAG&HS. The speaker  was the Director of the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum in Monroe, Louisiana. It is named for the military aviation pioneer and Commander of the Flying Tigers Claire Lee Chennault. Her name is Nell Calloway and she is the grand daughter of General Chennault. She gave an excellent presentation about the museum. With personal stories about the General. I enjoyed the meeting.

Her talk generated much interest and comments. There was good attendance. I am determined to tour the museum soon.
