prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

I finally meet the famous A.B. !

A.B. has been adding anonymous comments to my blog for some time. The comments have been nice and friendly and I have enjoyed them. I have often wanted to meet A.B. She and her husband David Beckler run an art studio in Ruston. She enjoyed my blog and in appreciation was working on a present for me. It is a lovely pencil drawing of a California Quail, which incidentally is one of my favorite birds. She had planned to give it to me on my birthday in July but I was on my Final Farewell Tour of the West Coast at that time.

This summer Rhonda Ray, then Rhonda Blakley entered the Beckler store on some business. You remember Rhonda? I occasionally put pictures of Rhonda on my Prune Picker blog. A.B. or Andrea recognized her and the two ladies collaborated on presenting me (a surprise) the lovely pencil drawing that was shown on yesterday's blog.

It turns out that the Beckler business is just across the street from the Southend Taco Bell where I go to enjoy my secret addiction. Yesterday after lunch I walked over to their studio and met two of the nicest people you could hope to meet. I had a great visit and enjoyed visiting them.

David and Andrea Beckler. Studio Artists and nice people.

They have a salt water aquarium that is outstanding. I have never seen such lovely coral.

  1. Hello Mr. Chuck!
It was such a pleasure to meet you yesterday. You are just as nice as I always knew you would be. Dave and I hope that you will stop in and visit the next time you indulge in your "addiction". Thank you for the lovely post about us and our shop. I am so excited to be a member of the "Prune Picker Post Gang" and hope that we cross paths again very soon.
    With Much Love,
    Andrea (A.B.)
