prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Largest Shopping Mall in the World!

When it opened in the 1980s and for some ten years the West Edmonton Mall was the largest in the world. Jackie loved shopping malls, along with Disneyland, and gambling casinos. It was easy to talk her into a trip to Elk Point. Edmonton was only about 150 miles from Elk Point.

It was something to see. It had a beach with surf, zoo, aquarium. amusement park, golf, ice rink, and a water park. Floating in the middle of the mall were full size replicas of the three ships that Columbus used to sail to America.

Now the Edmonton Mall is far being the largest in the world. But it is big enough.

We spent several days there and visited the house that the Smiths lived in during their homesteading adventure. The next leg in our trip was the Jasper/Banff area, This was one of the most scenic trips of our RV travels.

Our trip so far had been over 3000 miles of plains. We were about to drive down the top of the Canadian Rockies.
