prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Muslims in America Class #3 on 10/15/2013

We ended up with a class of four students and one professor. People from Monroe did not show up due to a forecast of very bad weather. I drove home in heavy rain.

We had a good discussion. The young man in the picture considers himself the representative of Muslims in America to the class. He sure is a pleasant person who knows a lot about the subject of the class. He brought lots of books.  I did not know that Muslims wore bow ties! (He was raised a Baptist)

Years ago when I worked for Schlumberger the French executives all wore bow ties, so us flunkies did too. You could not use pre-tied clip ons either. You had to tie them from scratch. I can not believe that I once could do that. And did, often.
