prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

My new car is dented.

My car is not a year old and I have put a dent in it.

How do you get a bump on the top of the hood and not break the paint? I had to pull a dumb stunt to do it. In a heavy rain I tried to get close to the newspaper box so that I could reach the paper from the car. I was unsuccessful at getting the paper but I managed to put a several hundred dollar dent in my car. I still got wet getting the paper.

I was heading for the white box. The bottom of the wood holding the mail box jumped out and dented my hood.

I have a notion to just fix the scratches from the Deer Crossing sign and leave the dents. Every time I look at them I will be reminder about what an idiot I am!

  1. Ooohhh Nooo!! How dare that post jump out at you like that.

Our car is used but new too us for only several months. It wasn't dented when we bought it, but Matt was trying to go down a ramp that was a very tight squeeze in a parking structure and smashed it up on the side. It's quite scratched up, too. I think the concrete wall jumped out at him on that side.

  2. Is that dent very visible from afar? If you don't have the time to get it repaired or don't mind having it there, you could just buy something that removes the scratches from the deer sign and leave it at that and wait until your next overall maintenance. At least it didn't leave a big gash on your hood. That would be very frustrating.

  3. Awww! It’s really frustrating to dent your less than a year old car. Repairing the damage is really costly regardless of the extent. So, how’s it now? Did you have it fixed or you purchased a new car? Any updates?
