prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. (91) I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Ricky Nelson Memories at the Dixie.

Every seat was full at the Dixie last night. Ricky Nelson's twin sons played film clips, showed slides, and performed Ricky Nelson music. They were very good. I enjoyed the show.

Another trip down Memory Lane! They mentioned going down the log ride at Knott's Berry Farm while their Dad performed. I have been there many times. Jackie and I lived a few miles away from Knott's for many years. We and our children spent many happy hours there. Mrs Knott prepared the best fried chicken dinner, always with a bowl of rhubarb.

  1. Hi, I found your blog by looking to see if there was an article about my Uncle Dan Fallin's 100th birthday and it took me to your posts that you wrote last year on his 99th birthday.
Did you get to celebrate his 100th birthday with him? How is he? My name is Caroline and I am Lavon and Martha Chandler's granddaughter in Topeka, KS. So glad I found your blog! Here is mine www.ohpicklesmommy.blogspot.com
