prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

(Widower 26) More Paris blogs and pics. Fly home.

One of the bridges over the Seine in the vicinity of the Louvre was covered with locks. These locks were placed by lovers. They place their initials on the locks and throw away the keys. This symbolizes their commitment. See Lover's Lock Bridge.

Nancy and I made a trip to the Louvre. I also walked over one day and spent some time there alone. It was about an hour plus walk. See my Louvre photos.

Paris was full of good Italian restaurants. Nancy and I should know. We ate at many of them.

Paris, like London, is full of interesting things to see.

The sidewalk looks to be in bad shape here. Maybe it is art.

Security was good in the area.

I will have to admit that at the end of the three week trip,  that it was nice to think about being home. See my blog about the trip home. Going home.

  1. That bad sidewalk or art kind of reminds me of Shreveport roads. lol. I stumble across your blog and have really enjoyed reading it. I lived in Shreveport for 16 years and only 8 months ago moved to Pierre South Dakota. My mother and father retired from the Air Force out of Barksdale. My dad passed away 4 years ago and my mom was from South Dakota with sisters in the area. So I decided to get her back to her home state to enjoy time with her sisters before they all passed away.
You sure have had a wonder life. I am enjoying every article and will continue to read everyday.
I too am an army veteran. Was in from 84-89. No combat but served in South Korea and worked on the DMZ a bit. North Koreans would still like to take a shot at us.

  2. Hi Jess. Thanks for the nice note. Must be nice to live in the city with the state capitol. There is a lady who writes a Shreveport blog. Called "so it goes in Shreveport". You might like it. I have a link in side bar.

Give my best to your mom. We are in the same boat.

    Thanks again. Chuck
