prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Ruston is a great place to be a veteran.

On Veterans Day 11/11/11 I went to the Jefferson Corner Liars Club, For some reason (I swear it was not with forethought.) I ordered a deluxe breakfast. When I tried to pay, Rhonda would not take any money. Because I was a veteran.

I went to a Veterans Day program put on by the VFW at mid day. A delicious lunch was free courtesy of Super One.

In the evening my daughter Kerry had fixed my favorite supper. It was spaghetti just like Jackie used to make! Am I not a very fortunate guy? I am very appreciative.

Here is the old prune picker"s beard at six weeks.
