prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Black Gum?

Walked this morning with Nolan Coleman. I was taking a picture of my pretty red tree which has almost dropped all of it's leaves when he walked up. Poor Nolan! He had showed up to walk with me and the Blakley Ladies.  However they were busy at Jefferson Corner. So Nolan had to walk with me.

This how the tree looked last week.

Nolan thought the tree is a Black Gum. I came home and checked my little Golden Book on the Trees of North America. The book agreed with Nolan. Must be a good book.
