prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Captain TenEyck Munson 1835-1881, a distant cousin.

By profession TenEyck was a clerk in Canandaigua, New York. In 1862 he assisted in raising a company of 105 men.  He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. He was in the following Civil War battles. Harper's Ferry, Gettysburg, Auburn Ford, Bristow Station, and Morton's Ford. He was promoted to First Lieutenant and then to Captain.

He was wounded, was a prisoner of war, and contacted a disease. He died of the disease at the young age of 49. He died in 1881 the year that my father was born.
