prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

AE Phillips Veteran Recognition Program

The program was put on by the fifth grade. AE Phillips is a Magnet School located in the middle of Louisiana Tech.

It was a nice typical veterans day program. A week early because of school schedule. I was really touched by a portion of the program that was devoted to Patriot Paws. Patriot Paws trains and provides aid dogs to disabled veterans. In the picture above is Mike McHale and his buddy Cap. A check for $1600 was presented to Mike. The money had been raised by the students in two weeks.
