prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. (91) I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Danny and Diana Butcher visit. December 3, 2014.

Danny is my nephew. He is just a kid. (A good kid). He is 68 and a retired Los Angeles fireman. His wife Diana is a retired High School Librarian. A month ago they left their home in Pomona, California. They drove to New York (many stops on the way) to visit their grandson and his parents, their son and daughter. Then a little side trip to Key West, Florida. Then to Ruston.

It was so good to see them. Much visiting interrupted by meals. First night we had supper at Willie's Duck Diner in West Monroe. The next day we had lunch at Gap Farms in Arcadia. Last night was a gourmet meal (crawfish étouffée over rice) prepared by Kerry and John Adams. My daughter and son in law. Fine Southern Chefs.

Pictures at Willie's.

Selfie time!

Kerry, John, Christian, and Ross joined us at Willie's.

  1. I'm so glad you all had such a nice visit. I have enjoyed all of the pictures on Facebook, too. That shot of you and Dan is so funny. Talk about look alike. By the way, I don't believe I have that nose. ;-)
