prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

A visit with Jason and Dan.

It was a beautiful morning in Ruston. 62 degrees out when I got up. After coffee and a donut at the Liars Club, a full breakfast at the VFW, and a walk with Rhonda I decided to visit two old Ruston friends.

Jason Owens lives at the Russ House.

Jason is a friend from the aquacise class. He no longer attends class or gets out much. Jason is a retired educator. He was in charge of a school located on the Tech Campus. He just recently celebrated his 88th birthday. An 88th birthday is a goal of mine. I recently turned 87.

Dan Fallin lives at the Arbor of Ruston.

Dan is a friend from the VFW and Senior Lunch. Dan drove an ambulance for General Patton. He will be 100 years old on January 23, 2013. I hope to be at the party. I was at his 99th birthday party. I hesitate to say that a 100th birthday is a goal of mine. Maybe it secretly is.

It was a pleasure to visit these guys.
