prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Four very important women in my life.

From left to right; Neway Dinwoodie Smith, Helen Smith Ireton, Jackie Ireton Monson, and Nancy Ann Monson. They are great grandmother, grandmother, mother. and baby. You can see that Nancy is curious about the box that her daddy is pointing at her.

Picture was taken in 1946 in the side yard of Neway's home in San Luis Obispo, California. I was married to the beautiful girl in bobby socks for 63 years. Today is Jackie's 85th birthday. It is also Christian Newberry's 2nd birthday. It is a day of tears and joy for me.
