prune picker
This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Possum Grape Jelly
This is a gourmet treat! Jewette Farley gave this jar to me for Christmas. The grapes for this jelly were picked by a friend of Jewette on Mayhaw Hill north of Arcadia. Possum Grapes grow wild in much of the South.

I have my very own story about possum grape jelly. I was six, a beginner in the culinary world, using an outdoor fire for my project. Today for the first time, I have trees with possum grapes hanging from them in bunches. Maybe I ought to try making jelly again.
