prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

One day prior to brain surgery.

I take up my blog one day before my brain surgery. Brain surgery to stop my brain from bleeding. That sure sounded  impressive at the time. It is seems routine now after a couple of weeks.

On Sat the 23rd of March 2013 I went to the Waffle House with Katie and John. They both said that I  acted a little strange. I posted my blog that day. The last one in two weeks.

On that day Joy and David repeated their wedding vows on John and Kerry's deck in front of a lot of friends. An old friend of Joy's brother conducted the service.

I did not feel well that evening. I got up at 2 in the morning to wait for John to take me to the emergency room. When he told me he would be ready to go breakfast soon I answered with my best version of text (iietattsnet). In two minutes John popped in the trailer and said that we were going to the emergency room.

I knew that we were trouble when the x-ray man asked me when did I hit my head.

Off in the ambulance and off to LSU in Shreveport on the 24th.

  2. I was worried before, now I'll just pray for you. I am just an anonymous stranger who enjoys your blog musings. Does it give you some comfort to know that you give enjoyment to, and have positive impact on, people you don't even know? I hope so. Good luck.
