prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

One left. Out of 18.

I had eight siblings. My folks had nine children. We were all married. That makes a group of 18. 17 of the 18 have passed away. I am the only one left. I had five lovely sisters and three handsome brothers.

I miss them all so much. I know that I have a big family living. Three children and their spouses. Eight grandchildren. Four of the eight grandchildren have a spouse. Nine great grandchildren. I believe that is 27. They are a lot of company. They are a lot to love on. Keeps me busy keeping up with them. Two of my great grandchildren are teen agers. One has a drivers license.

However, there is something different about the family you were raised in and spent your childhood with. My sisters and brothers are in my memory daily. I miss them. I feel lonely for them very often.

That is why I try to stay busy.
