prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Cook Baptist Church Annual Memorial Day Fish Fry.

I have attended this affair for seven or eight years. It is a wonderful community tradition for veterans and spouses. I attended today and loved it. Volunteers line up and cook lots of catfish, french fries, and hush puppies.

They work under the direction of Richard Jones. Richard gets to be boss because he catches all the catfish.

Here are some random crowd photographs.

I enjoy seeing all the nice people. They are people that I have met at Senior Lunch, Swim Class, VFW, Tech Athletic Events, and Jefferson Corner morning coffee. I have met them over the last nine years.
