prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Toodle-uma-luma-luma.

These are the first lyrics in the chorus of that famous song "The Umbrella Man". Here are some more lyrics.

Does the song come back to you now? I am sure that you are humming the tune right now. This song played a big role in my life. When I was a student at  John C Fremont Junior High School in Pomona, California I entered an amateur hour program (put on by the school) and played this song on my ocarina. The ocarina is a flute made out of clay and has a very pleasant sound. (Amazon has them listed for $12.95)

Mine was red. I must have been a good ocarina player because I got third prize!

    1. Might be hard to get. Buy an ocarina, practice, and shoot video.
