prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

38th Annual Natchitoches-NSU Folk Festival

I attended the 38th Annual Louisiana Folk Festival today in Natchitoches. Mr and Mrs Michael Ray went with me, in fact Mrs Ray drove the car. Good driver.

Below is a photo of the Delta Bluegrass Band. Good players!

We went downtown for lunch and ate at the famous meat pie restaurant, Lasyones. I have heard about the restaurant and the wonderful meat pies for years. I am glad to say that all I heard was true.

Mr and Mrs Ray. Michael and Rhonda. Sweet company. They made my day!

I had eaten a portion of my meat pie and red beans and rice before I remembered to take this picture.

Here is a video of Cajun dancers enjoying the music of Goldman Thibodeaux and the Lawtell Playboys. There is a view of the Craft Area. And Rhonda and Michael are in the last shot.
