prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. (91) I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

John likes his chickens. John likes his garden.

John really likes his seven chickens. They are fun to watch and put up in their coop every evening.

John really likes his garden. Unfortunately the chickens also like his garden. Remember this poor plant?

Recently John set out some cabbage and lettuce starter plants in tubs. The chickens ate them all. John did it again. The chickens ate them all again.

John then built a fence around his tubs.

I hope that this will keep the chickens out of the cabbage. If it does not there may be some southern fried chicken in the neighborhood.
