prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Friends and Fiddles

Last night (Mothers Day Eve) I attended a jam at Lake D'arbonne State Park. I was invited by Larry and Patti Hendrick. The jam consisted of one or two fiddles playing and several guitars accompanying them. I really enjoyed it. I stayed for six hours. I even had a couple of requests played. Ashokan Farewell and Boil Them Cabbage Down. Larry, Patti and their work crew served a delicious spaghetti dinner. I really really want to thank all that were at the jam. They were so nice and welcoming. A special thank you to Larry and Patti.
