prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Prunepicker found the "Scottish" Highlands of Louisiana.

Why the Highlands are at the Scotland Farms in Minden, Louisiana. About an hour from where I live in Reston. The Scottish Society o' the Louisiana Highlands holds the Tartan Festival every year. This is the 16th Festival. How come I was so long in discovering it? I do not get around enough. I finally got to Festival today. Here are pictures and a couple videos.

Genuine Scottish cattle.

Keg tossing.

Bonniest Knees Contest. Risque!

Port Belly Project.

Grand March of the Clans. And Kirking of the Tartans.
