prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

My new roof and elegant new porch.

My previous porch was built by John nine years ago. It was not treated wood. While installing my new steel roof it gave way. Noah Brown of American Carports (for a nominal fee) built me a new porch. Noah also did the roof. Here is the exciting story (exciting to me) of my new roof and porch.in pictures.

Broke old porch.

Out goes the old porch.

In goes the new.Notice one piece stainless steel railings. No splinters.

Noah brought the A Team today. Dustin, Dillon, and Keith. Hard working crew.

Home Sweet Home. In the shade and out of the rain!

    1. Sure is cozy. A branch fell on my steel roof and it sounded far away.

  2. I think this is such a great idea. I can not tell you how nasty the roof of our RV is. I have had more issues with rust over the last year, issues I think could have been averted had we installed one of these metal roofs over it. Great pictures too, you are lucky to have such dedicated helpers.

  3. It seems like you have really begun to make that mobile home of your into just that: a home. The roof is amazing. It's nice to see you all come together like that to get the project finished and you should be proud of the end result. Both the roof and the new porch look incredible. Good job, guys!
