prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Fourth of July at Fiddle Tunes.

Fiddle Tunes is a fiddle school held every Fourth of July week at Fort Warden. Several hundred students of all ages and skills attend a week long school. Skilled fiddle players come from all over to teach classes. The school always presents a Fourth of July Concert. Jackie and I attended for some dozen years. Yesterday, along with memories of Jackie, I was delighted to have the company of two grandsons, a grand daughter in law, and two great grand daughters.

The concert is held in the blimp hanger converted to a theatre. The doors allow people outside on the lawn to hear and view some of the program. It was a beautiful day and a lot of picnicking went on. The hanger was used in the movie "Officer and a Gentleman".

Here comes grandsons, Matt and Mark.

We gathered around sandwiches and fried chicken. Janelle, Winter, Matt, Holly, and Mark.

In the evening there were firework shows. We saw fireworks in different parts of the Port Townsend-Port Ludlow area.
