prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Day nine. Trip to Avebury.

When Nancy and I were on the bus tour out of Bath we stopped for lunch at the village of  Avebury.

Avebury is about 20 miles from Stonehenge. It is the site of the largest prehistory stone circle in Europe.

This monument is much less formal than Stonehenge. The stones were never formed by human hand. You can walk up to the stones.

Tim our tour guide got his divining rods out and located a Ley line.

The village pub had great English fish and chips. The pub (the George) is 350 years old.
