prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Ruston Senior Center needs a hot lunch.

When we moved into the Senior Center on Saratoga several years ago we decided to simplify and to not use a steam table. The lunches are prepared (TV tray style) in Monroe and delivered to us in an insulated box.

The food is prepared in Monroe at 7 or 8, delivered about 9, and served at 12. It is usually hot enough for me but I know that many people are often disappointed with the taste of the food because it is not hot.

We are going to look into obtaining and using a hot food table like the one pictured below. Isn't that exciting?
