prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Raccoons and others at John's feeder.

Raccoons can climb a pole. This feeder is used with the hope that deer will be attracted to the area. You can see that the feeders draw many critters.

It does attract deer.

And hogs.

More deer.

And turkeys.

A herd of five hogs. One picture had six hogs in it. The pictures were taken by a motion sensitive automatic camera that John placed at the feeder. The almost 800 pics indicated many more hogs than deer. This has so worried John that he and his son in law Justin Miller are now on duty in the woods looking for hogs. I am sure that the fact that both men like ham has nothing to do with the hunt.
