Anticipation

It has been said that 95 % of the enjoyment of an event is in the anticipation. I enjoy anticipation. I have squeezed every bit of of the joy of anticipation out of my planned trip to Europe next week. For months I have counted the days to the trip. It is now 8 days, but I started serious anticipation almost 200 days ago. Almost everyone that I know has been told and told again about my trip. Some do not say hello but ask me how many days? I have blogged about it until I am blue in the face. Maybe half the world knows about the trip.

I am looking forward to spending the three weeks with my oldest daughter Nancy Ann. She has fed me information. She has planned the trip down to last detail. I just have to go the airport in Shreveport and get on the right airplane. Nancy will meet me in Dallas and then we fly to London. After a train ride we will be in a hotel in Bath. 2 days in Bath, 5 days in London, 2 days in Bury St Edmunds, 1 day in Portsmouth, 4 days in Bayeux, and 5 days in Paris.

I am so pleased that Nancy wanted to go with me and spend 21 days with me. I am convinced that she is as excited about the trip as I am. It has been 46 years since we lived in the same house. It is such a bonus to spend this time with Nancy.

  1. One week from today! I also am excited about the time spent with you. I'm looking forward to showing you so many places that I love as well as some I've never seen. It will be great to travel with someone who is so full of curiosity. I know we will store up many, many memories of places and people. See you in Dallas
