Misc Dana Point pics starring the Wrights.

Here is how Dana Point got its name. Richard Dana wrote "Two years before the mast". In the book he describes seeing cow hides sailed from Dana Point down to the ships below. The hides were called California Greenbacks and were worth a dollar. They were needed in New England for shoes.

Cattle were raised for the hide. The sculpture below is on the hill above Dana Point.


One of the houses below is appraised at 40 million. The property tax is 1/2 million per year.
