prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

85 miles per hour!

About 10 to 20 seconds a month I will drive over 80 miles per hour to get out of a jam. Yesterday noon I was driving on the interstate into Ruston from Grambling. I was going to meet the family for lunch.

I was kinda trapped in the left lane so I sped up to pass a couple 18 wheelers. I used my monthly allotment of over 80 miles per hour. Unfortunately I passed a highway patrolman while doing so. I was soon pulled over and given a ticket! 85 mph in a 70 mph zone.

I was in time for lunch.

I now owe a couple hundred dollars to the citizens of Louisiana. Sure was a good lunch.
