(RV 33) 3 1/2 months of volunteer duty at Acadia NP went by in a hurry.

We had our work duties. Jackie at the Visitors Center.

And I at the sign shop. I routed trail signs.

There was a very nice perk to our jobs. We were assigned to go on all of the park generated activities. We were expected to know them all so they sent us on all of them.

Puffin/whale watching boat trip.
Long boat trip to a nearby island. Saw a very old Osprey nest.
Audubon bird walk.
A ride in the carriages that traveled the carriage roads.
Escorted museum tours.

Some of these activities involved a hefty admission fee. We got to go free.

A pot luck at our RV park. You can see our Alfa in the background. And Jackie nibbling.

Downtown Bar Harbor where the cruise ships docked.

Chow-hound at the Lobstermen's Coop Wharf.

Parade in downtown Bar Harbor. July 4th ?

Jackie on the rock bound coast of Maine.

We really enjoyed our summer at the Acadia National Park. Volunteering is a lot of fun and very satisfying. But we had to get moving. Going home to move from Texas to Washington.

This will be the second year (1989) that our trailer will be at both the Atlantic Coast and the Pacific Coast. The other year was 1987 when we visited Oceano, California and New York. We do it again on our second trip to Florida.
