prune picker

This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

My high school.

I am in the nostalgia/memory part of life. In researching I ran across these two pictures.

The picture is of Pomona High School, Pomona, California. I studied girls, American History, and went to dances. On December 8, 1941 I sat in the auditorium and heard the live radio broadcast of President Roosevelt giving his "Day of Infamy" speech.

On May 14, 1956 the building was completely destroyed by a fire. I am still sad about this tragedy.
