Last session on Muslims in America.

I attended the last of five sessions studying Muslims in America. The two hour sessions were held on the five Tuesdays in October, 2013. They were led by Dr. Ahmad Nazir Atassi of the Department of History of Louisiana Tech University. I enjoyed them and learned quite a bit. We read and discussed five books about Muslims. Most of what I learned was from the books. For years I had banished book reading from my life. Now that I have dipped my toe into the pool of reading books I think that I will read some more. Early in my life I read many books, Then I stopped. May be I will leave this vale of tears reading.

Muslim treatment of ladies got much attention as well as dress codes. There was some intense discussions. I listened. At least two of the people in the group were Muslims.  One of the Muslims quoted the Koran as saying that a Muslim could have sexual relations with a wife or a concubine, but that sex with a slave was forbidden, I do not think that I needed to know that.
