How can I die with so much medicine working on me? I went for a little walk this morning (thinking about immortality). Sure was good to get back. I carried a little camp chair so I could stop and rest. I can not go for a drive until I am cleared to drive my car.
When I got home I made a list of the medicines I take now. Thursday I have an appointment to review them with Dr Carter, my VA Doctor in Monroe.
Can you think of any thing I am missing?
Hey Mr. Chuck!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you are getting back into your routine of walking. It sure was a beautiful day for it. D.B. and I did some yard work today. It was nice and the yard sure does look pretty.
I was thinking about your last post and if you don't mind, I wanted to give you a little tip that helped D.B. and myself. We have been going through a really rough time these past 18 months or so and have been dealing with some depression and overall, feeling pretty blue. We have always been interested in current events and kept up with what was going on in the world but we stopped. We realized that hearing about all the pain and tragedy taking place only made us feel terrible and did nothing at all to help the poor people that were being effected. Our "real lives" were almost more than we could bear and our sadness for others was only compounding our problems. So, we decided to go on a "low sad, high joy diet". If what we were feeding our brains didn't bring us happiness, we cut it out. No news, no sad movies or sad TV. It didn't mean that we weren't still empathetic toward other people's hard times, but our being informed didn't help them one bit. I know that this plan may sound simple, but it really helped us. After all, what you feed your brain is just as important to your well-being as what you feed your body. It really is just an extension of what you said - count your blessings.
I hope that my advice hasn't sounded to silly to you, Mr. Chuck. Keep looking on the bright side!
Love,
A.B.
Your comment was welcome and wise. I am glad that you guys are doing good. I would never think you two would get blue. So many of us lead lives of quiet desperation. I am looking forward to a walk tomorrow and some good thoughts. You are in my thoughts. Love, Mr. Chuck
