Dan Falin. 100 years old on 1.23.2013.

Yesterday the Ruston, Louisiana VFW Post hosted a birthday party to honor the 100th birthday of Dan Falin. Dan drove an ambulance for Patton in World War II and he also served in the Korean War. He is a long time member of the Ruston VFW Post and was Post Commander for several years.

I arrived at the post early and took these pictures of the decorated hall.

You can see the fine work of the present Post Commander JD Harper in the preparation and conduct of the birthday ceremonies. I would like to compliment him and thank him for all his good work. Lots of good things happen because of his efforts.

JD hard at work.

These ladies arrived early and  did much additional decorating.

Dan arrives.

Several hundred people attended.

Pretty cake.

A hight light of the day was the appearance of Dan Hollingsworth, Mayor of Ruston who read a proclamation and presented it to Dan. The proclamation said many nice things about Dan.

Congratulations and best wishes to Dan on his 100th birthday. A great guy!
