Merry Christmas from my home to your home!

This is a message from the old prune picker to all of my family, friends and prune picker blog readers. (indeed to the world)

All the leaves are down now, but my home site is still a beautiful place. I love it and am happy here in the piney hills west of Ruston, Louisiana.

I hope and pray that you and your loved ones are well and happy this Christmas Season. I am a fan of Christmas and altho I am not a believer I love the Christmas story and Christmas music. I have SiriusXM in my car. They have a station with Bing Crosby singing Christmas songs all day every day. He was singing Silent Night while I drove to the Senior Center yesterday for lunch. I cried from the memories and the beauty of the music. To me, Bing Crosby is a bigger part of my World War II memories than basic training, combat landings, or my First Sargent.

Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year to you all!

  1. Hello Mr. Chuck,
I also love the classic Christmas carols sung by the classic singers. A few of my favorites are "White Christmas" by Bing, "Sleigh Ride" performed by John Williams and the Boston Pops, and "The Little Drummer Boy" by the Harry Simeone Chorale. I love the deep "Rum Pum Pums" in the background in contrast to the boys sweet voices. Even though I am not a believer, that song will make me cry if I am not ready for it. I also love "Happy Christmas" by John Lennon but that is about as "contemporary" as I get! Throw in some Perry Como and Frank Sinatra and you've got yourself some top notch Christmas carols!

Mr. Chuck, I have to say that meeting you after all this time of reading your blog was one of the highlights of my year. I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and an even better New Year. As Bing would say, "May your days be merry and bright!"

    Love
    A.B.
