Lunch in Rattlesden, Suffolk, England.

Today Nancy Ann and I had lunch in Rattlesden. This was after a trip from America and a car ride from Bury St Edmunds. Last year I learned that my 8th great grandfather, Thomas Munson, had been baptized here in 1612. And that the baptismal font was still in use. I mentioned on a blog that I was going to go to Rattlesden and take a picture of that baptismal font. Nancy Ann said "I want to go with you." So here we are! Nancy's generous help and underwriting of the trip is sincerely appreciated. She can even drive a car in England!

This is a list of every Rector that
St Nicholas Church has ever had, starting in 1215. There was a church on this spot in 1086. It is mentioned in the Doomsday Survey. People have gathered to worship here for 900 years.

I can not believe that I only took 3 pictures of the font!

The 447th Bomber Group served at the Rattlesden Air Base during WW II. What brave men.

The American Chapel or corner of the church.

Guard cat.

This is what I always say. Plus "keep a stiff upper lip."

Sticky Caramel Pudding with ice cream.
