This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Softball last night. Techsters vs Stephen F Austin.
Saw a good game last night. My seat was about 40 feet from first base.
My view of the field.
Peaking at the pitcher.
Notice that Stephen F Austin made less errors and a lot more runs. 9 to 3.
A friend sent me a link to your blog and I really enjoyed reading through it today. I live in western New York, but I call Ruston home since I graduated from high school there. Until recently my parents lived there...but my dad passed away in Sept 2010 and my mother in Sept 2011. I saw that you mentioned the swimming class at Tech...and that you were a walker. So I wondered if you'd ever met Richard or Mary Paige. I know my father swam at Tech often till his health started to fail...and he and mom were both walkers.
Thanks for the beautiful pictures. This homesick, grieving girl (54 yr old gal) loves having a touch of home.
Hope you continue to write and that your life continues to be blessed in Ruston.
I am so glad that you like my blog. Your kind remarks help make it all worthwhile. I asked people in the swim class about your Mom and Dad and they remember them. I should too. I have been in the class since 2007. The folks tell me your Mom would come to the pool and read while your Dad was in the pool.
We RV'd in western New York. It is quite a place. Best wishes.
Hi Mr. Monson:
