Rattlesden. Birthplace of my 8th great grandfather and home to the 447th Battle Group in World War II.

The 447th Battle Group of the 8th Air Force was stationed at the Rattlesden Airfield during the air war against Germany. The 447th flew B-17s. While blogging about Rattlesden I have received several comments from people involved in the war at Rattlesden. I may see the remains of the field as it is now the home of the Rattlesden Gliding Club.
